I really feel like i should be getting married this november instead of 2008. We were engaged last sept/oct, just moved in together and are getting settled into our together life. I feel like there is no reason to wait(other than saving for the wedding obviously). Plus a small part of me feels uncomfortable 'living in sin', but we really had to move in together.
It would be my fantasy to just screw our big plans and have a smaller more informal ceremony(40-80ppl) here on LI somewhere or maybe in Newport or somewhere close. Then we can afford to get married in November 2007! I know this will never happen as much as i want it to(i dont want a big formal wedding anyways, FH does... ). If my fantasy was possible, where would it take place( it would have to be very inexpensive)???

I feel your pain. We were engaged in January of this year and our wedding is 2 weeks after yours. We are having out e-party in August which has given us something to look forward to. But it does stink. I would rather have a smaller more intimate wedding NOW rather than our 240 person wedding extravaganza in November 2008. But FH wants the big wedding and since it is his day too, I cant deny him that.

I totally understand what you are saying. We were engaged in August '05 and are getting married this September, at the time it felt like an eternity away but believe me when I tell you that the time will fly by.

OMG I feel the same way! We have been together for a long time, have moved in together, are getting settled in our tgether life, and now I just want to get the ball rolling instead of waiting til '09! i understand we need to save and graduate and all, its just frusterating the constant hurry up and wait feeling...
regardless of whether you wait or scrap everything and do it now, I'm sure it will be wonderful for you! maybe you could rent out a park or a beach pavilion at Jones Beach?

I feel the same! We have been togther for 5 years and have lived together for the past 2. We finally got engaged last Sep, but b/c we are paying for it ourselves, we have to wait. But I am so ready to be married already....
I know everyone says it will go by so fast, but so far I don't feel like it has. I can't wait
