Since I moved to the new house, my face was breaking out so bad, I mean really bad. I tried to figure out what it was and narrowed it down to the water. I bought the Brita faucet filter and washed my face with that water 2 days in a row (even after I showered). My face is better than it ever was. Gross!! What is in the water?

I'm not sure. I have very sensitive skin to begin w/ so it could be anything in the water.

I have never done this and not sure that they can help, but it may be worth a shot. Call up a pool supply store and ask if you can bring in a tap water sample for testing. They might be able to tell you what's going on. Then call your water district to complain.

LOL.... its called 'Long Island Water'. Nothing like good 'ole NYC water... the best in the country.

I should check the water I guess. I keep looking at my skin amazed that is was so bad and cleared up in 2 days w/ the filtered water. Yuck!

How weird! I broke out more in college upstate because the water was odd--it was like there were no bubbles in the shower. Maybe the pressure was off...Anyway, doing better living here...Good luck!
OMG! That is so strange but I am glad you figured out how to fix the problem. (What town are you in with water like that? )

That is soooooo weird, I was just telling DH that I think I am having a reaction to the water here. I usually have very dry skin & have to wear tons of moisturizer, but now I have very oily skin & I keep breaking out. Even my hair is getting oily & that NEVER happened before?
What water district are you in?

maybe there was some type of bacteria or mold on the faucets???? i would get the water tested still....just in case!

i would also get the water tested and chnage all the faucets and shower bodys just to be safe.
