I was almost a horrible Bridesmaid!

LADIES!
I have got to share this story as 1) diet motivation and 2) advice for you to pass on to your bridesmaids.

So, I'm in a wedding next Saturday. I tried on my dress....uhm....they have not created a Spanx yet that would suck me in enough for it to close. Why?
I ordered it a size smaller because like a bufoon....I swore I would lose 15 pounds over the holidays.

Yes, big idiot.

SO, obviously I am terrified last night, I had a good cry and then made a list of all David's Bridals. I was ashamed to tell tham that my fat a$$ didn't fit into the dress I ordered so I made up a story about paint being spilled. The store in Brooklyn was super helpful and gave me a list of 8 stores that carried the dress in the size I need.

After 4 calls, Kansas City has come to the rescue and will be shipping the sample dress overnight. Yes, I will pay full price for a sample but anything to keep my Cousin from being anguished on her wedding day!

Ladies, please share with your bridesmaids so that they:
1) order whatever size they are (you can ALWAYS take in)
and
2) they pick up on the subtle fact that a good bridesmaid will not stress you with these things and do whatever they need to come through for you.

OMG,. the shame! I am eating greens for the rest of the day.

Awww...That's sooo sweet of you...hiding it from the Bride... My one sister that's a BM would make ME do all the leg work if she ordered the wrong size. LOL> That's sweet. HA.

As for ordering too small..I made sure my girls all ordered larger just to be safe... and cheaper. LOL.

One of my bms told me this week her dress was too tight, luckily we have 6 months.

Thanks ladies, you would think that as a bride to be, I would have had more sense than to make the mistake in the first place.

I'm so glad it worked out. I wanted to bury my head in the sand!

this makes me very nervous one of my BM's ordered a size smaller as well because she said she's on a diet.

She should have time to fit into it. Maybe you can set up a 'trial' in March to see if she can reach the goal by then? I ordered in November and clearly did not allot enough time for it.

I have a closet full of clothes I've never worn due to this condition. I'm still waiting to get into my sequined tube top and hotpants.

That was a particularly weak impulse buy made under what I like to call 'Shopper's Delirium'. Other symptoms: buying anything white and thinking it will stay that way; telling yourself that cinch belts really do 'cinch in all the right places', and that the resulting flabbalanche is obvious only to you; convincing yourself that your boobs will NOT droop as the night proceeds, and that the halter top you want will not have to be hoisted up by you at regular intervals; and finally, headbands.

OMG.. that is kinda super nice of you. And I can appreciate the words you wrote, especially doing that. Know that their are some girls out there that would just fight and cause stress over this type of situation. So I applaud you for the way you reacted. And thank you so much for the suggestion! I am TOTALLY going to think of this when it comes time to get the BM dresses.
