I was just...

trying out new signatures for my new name. (I'm a social worker and sign my names many many times a day.) and I realized I'm gonna really miss my current last name.

I'm in the same boat as you. I created an e-mail address w/ my new last name and it really hit me that in a few months, I will no longer be my last name, but will be something else.

OMG i am sooo sad about losing my last name. FH and I agreed to me hyphenating so technically i am not giving it up. i do not plan to change my email address or anything.
I really dislike his last name and his family gets on my nerves more and more each day so really i dont want to be associated with them! yes that is an evil thing to say but its true! i love my last name and i wanna keep it

I will miss my last name. I think I'm going to completely change it though it's too long with my first name and then hyphenating my last name and his last name ... too much to write and sign that way.

I know me too, also my dad is the only boy out of all his siblings (2 sisters) and my dad had 3 girls so its just sad to see our last name end. I might still use my name for work purposes we will see.

Well I just renewed by license and asked how I change to my married name.

Response: Come with info, pay $12, take a new pic.

Me: I just took one today

Them: Well it's like you are a new person then

I really hate my last name but i hate his more so I asked to keep mine and he wasnt thrilled thought about hyphenating but then it would be so long so Im stuck. Im sure in 30 years I will get used to his last name.

This is me. Don't really like his but he wasn't happy when I said I would hyphenate. Then I sugguested we both hyphenate his response NO

Well, it's really not the huge of a deal with signing things, I don't actually write out my last name as it is. I just write N and squiggles! Now I will have to write and F and squiggles! hmmmmmm
