This is my second marriage... (well in my eyes my FIRST.. ugh the other didnt count lol)
My dad died 25 years ago.... and the first wedding, my mom & brother walked me down the aisle. Through the years I have really not been close with my brother - in fact I dont really like him too much and i do not like his wife AT ALL... Him and I only talk at family functions.
So i recently heard of a friend who had her 10 year old son walk her down the aisle because her Dad died a few years back...... awww
I was thinking of course to have my mom walk me down the aisle.... but then i was thinking maybe to have my little 11 year old nephew walk me down. Im very close to my sister, this is her son.... he is named after my Dad.
Is that a cheesy idea? cute idea?
or should i just have mom do it?
Any advice? suggestions?

Why not have both your mom and nephew walk you down? I think it's a good idea and great that you want to memorialize your dad in that way and if it makes you happy, DO IT!!!

For my first marriage my oldest brother walked me down the aisle since my dad died when i was 15. For my second marriage I had my oldest son who was 21 at the time, so I think it is a beautiful idea to have your 11 year old nephew walk you down.

its your wedding you can do anything that you want! and I am sure that if you are close with your nephew he would love to. but im sure even if you just wanted to do your mom that would be just as special

I think it would be nice. Whoever is important to you should walk you down. I am having both my parents walk with me. I do think it is very special when a mother walks her daughter down. It shows what a special bond they've had in the absence of a father/husband.

honestly.. I don't like the idea of your nephew walking you down.. I'd say just your mom. But it's YOUR wedding, so do what you want.

I say do what makes you happy. If you have a special bond with your nephew and you want him to walk you down the aisle go for it. If you would like to include your mom I don't see a problem with it all. People are chosen to walk a bride down the aisle for various reasons I do not think this a silly idea at all. It is your day and I'm sure your nephew will be proud to walk you down the aisle and your sister honored that you asked her son!

Follow your heart.... This is my second wedding, and I am going to have my son walk me down the aisle. As a person who lost their mom only a short time ago, I would have loved to have the opportunity to honor my mother by walking down the aisle with her. I am a single parent, and nothing would touch my heartstrings more than having my daughter ask me to walk her down the aisle. It is tough raising a family alone, I think the honor should go to your mom....

My father is not present in my life. I was not comfortable with the idea of my mother walking me down the aisle. I had my 21 year old brother walk me down.
