I was up on Long Island for 10 days and no snow...
Now I get back to Raleigh and it hasn't stopped snowing yet. I think we have around 6-8 inches now. We're supposed to get 10-12 more inches as the day goes on. We were up there doing wedding things, hoping for snow. We have a Siberian Husky puppy so I was looking forward to seeing him play in the snow for the first time. But it never snowed. I can't believe we had to come home to North Carolina for snow. Too funny!

How Did everything go?
Melissa...how did all of your wedding stuff go? Did you get everything done? What did you think of the country club? We actually changed our plans and had to move the wedding up to May 2003 but are still considering HolbrookCC as our first choice. Fill us in!!!

We accomplished everything on our To Do List. We met with our MC, florist, Priest, saw the church, country club, booked the limos, tried on my wedding gown, picked out a bridesmaid dress, and picked out and had some people already fitted for the tuxedos. I think that covers it. I liked the country club. I thought it was a little small, but then again our wedding will be about 100 people, and I'm not used to seeing a hall in the shape of an octagon/circle. It's definitely different. I do like it. I just think the dance floor is on the smaller side, and they need a new one, and the flower wall paper on the one wall I don't like. But you get that with every place, there's always something that you don't like. Overall, I'm glad we switched. We get to get married on our anniversary, and it's saving us a lot of money. Any flaws that I don't like won't matter, because it will be night most of the time, so you can't see it anyway. I'm just really picky I guess.

We're using... Invitation to Dance for the DJ, Paul Marino for Photos, Platinum Video, Holbrook Country Club, St. Thomas Moore Parish for the church, New York Style Limos, Oakdale Florist, White Tie Tuxedos, Angel Bridals for my gown, and Bridal Suite of Centereach for the bridesmaids gowns, and we're going to Florida (Disney/Universal) for our honeymoon. I think I mentioned everyone. So basically we're done with the big stuff. Now onto the more detailed things. For our favors we're going to use Picture Yourself Graphics and get the Trading Card Favors and I think we already have our wedding invitations picked out. I think that's it.

FYI- I had a friend who was going to have her reception there and they told her they were going to re-do the room. You may want to check into it. I've been to many family functions there (baby showers, christenings, etc) and they do a good job. Glad it's all falling into place for you!
