I went to a wedding at the Hamlet Willow Creek on Friday night!
It was my first time there. I thought the place was beautiful. The food and service were really good. I had salmon and DH had filet mignon. Something that would really bother me if I was the bride: for most of the wedding, about 1/2 of the wedding guests were outside on the balcony. I guess there is no way to prevent this from happening since the doors and balcony are connected to the room. Other than that, it seems like a great place to have a wedding

Off topic but.. We went to a wedding recently at a new place in Staten Island. Its right on the beach and all the rooms have doors that lead to an area right ON the boardwalk. The view is really gorgeous and it was a nice day out and it seemed like most of the night people were outside on the balcony hanging out and talking... The dance floor was empty for alot of the time, and while I loved being outside and not stuffed in a room I felt bad for the bride with the empty dance floor.

oh no- thats horrible thats my biggest fear about my wedding- i really hope that does not happen during mine - im in april- maybe it will rain

THAT IS MY FEAR TOO!!!!!! We went to a wedding last month and the same thing happened....I have been thinking about it ever since....maybe I'll ask Barbara to lock the doors after the cocktail hour

As long as the guests are enjoying themselves I will be happy. If they are having a good time outside enjoying the view, good for them. I wouldn't worry.

I just had my wedding there in June and had absolutely no problem with guests spending time outside and not staying inside. I had around 175 people and the dance floor was always packed.... yes people did go outside but they were primarily the smokers and then they would come right back inside when done. They also spent time in the lobby because the bar was still open... where there is drinks guys will gather. But here again they always made their way back in. The room never looked empty except for when the chocolate fountain was open.... then the lobby was packed!!!
