I went to Kleinfeld's and met Anne Barge and BOUGHT MY DRESS!!!! (long...) Now with pics
so i went to my kleinfeld's appointment today with an open mind and had a great experience!! yes, it's true, the women behind the desks are largely obnoxious, heavily made-up, older women from bay ridge. but since i grew up in bay ridge i'm used to it - lol. anyway, it's totally different when you get into the dressing rooms with your consultant. there was absolutely NO mention of time limits. no pressure or snobbery or anything. my consultant was an older italian lady, so she and my mom were chatting it up and we all hit it off from the get-go. i showed her some pics and she let me look around at dresses by myself but also gave me some suggestions. i ended up in the dressing room with 5-6 dresses.
the second dress i tried on was an anne barge that was beautiful. but it really wasn't like the dresses that i had had my heart set on, so i decided to try some of those on... there were 3 of them, all by angel sanchez. they were all really nice, but for some reason my eyes kept on drifting back to the anne barge... so i tried that one on again and didn't want to take it off!!! that's how i knew it was 'the one'!!!!!!
so in walks this cute teeny little woman and introduces herself as anne, and of course i have NO idea that it's anne barge. when i finally made the connection i got all beside myself and gave her a big hug!! it was so exciting to meet her - i felt like i was having a brush with fame - lol!
so after that i tried on a few more of her dresses, as well as some other lacy-type ones, just to REALLY convince myself that i had found the one. no other dress could compare. i found the PERFECT-EST dress for me!!!!!!! just had to share!

no, i could kick myself for forgetting my camera!!!! but it's probably all the better, because then i would have it on the computer and fh might find it 'by accident'

kimberlybride, i am going to stick with the color scheme, except i will have to make sure that the flowers are off-white instead of stark white (but most white flowers are a little off anyway, i think...)

Do you know what the range of prices was at Kleinfeld's? Approximate starting point for the lower price range? I live in Westchester and haven't decided yet if I want to make the trek there.
