I loved it. It was better then I had imagined. It was so elegant. I felt out of place because I was wearing jeans, but everyone there made me feel at home. Im still not 100% sure that we are going to book it - we still have some other places to look at, but it is definately at the top of our lists right now. I still have to show it to my fiance (he might be here this weekend). Im still worried that my wedding will look too small there and we might not meet the minimum count, but if i want it i guess we can just pay for minimum and not have that many people. I wonder if we can make up the minimum with the band members? Does anyone know (i forgot to ask)?

Vendors and children usually do not count towards your total. Did you ever look into Tappan Hill? From what I get from you on the boards, it's a place I think you would really like. Or even The Castle in Tarrytown. I don't know what your final decision was about getting married in Westchester.

I love Tappan Hill. Is the restaurant still open or do they now just have private affairs? Growing up we used to go there for special occasions, it was beautiful

I just went to a wedding there, the food was outstanding and the place was really nice.

I believe Tappan Hill just does private functions. It's very pricey, but if that's not an issue, it's a beautiful place.

We arent really interested in Tappen Hill since they do 2 events at one time. I would die if a place I was having my wedding at had a bar mitzvah or prom going on at the same time. I have to have my wedding to be the only event that day.

Me too. So, you can count the band members toward the minimum, but you have to pay full price for them (and children that you're counting toward the minimum) instead of the price break. To me that's better than paying for people who won't be there. But, if you're having trouble meeting the minimum, I've always wanted to go to a wedding at Oheka Castle - I'll come!!

Ok, so ignore that first part of my reply. However, I am still available to stand in as a guest

Re: I went to Oheka today
Thanks for the information. Do you think they would care if we did not have the minimum number of guests but paid for them anyway (is that a stupid question?)
