I wish I could diy everything!

I wish I could diy everything!

I've always wanted to be a crafty person but I'm not super talented in that aspect. But, I decided for the wedding I was going to try some things. I made my door tags for the oot guests and tonight I attempted my card box. It's not finished, I still have to add the ribbon, but decided to share. I've learned some card box secrets if anyone is making their own, I kind of want to redo it now that I've learned so much. Hope it survives until the wedding!! Lol

For someone who claims not to be crafty, you sure did an amazing job! It looks great!

Edit: Do you think you can FM me those tips also? I wanna attempt to do this again, but for a friend since I bought mine already.

Heres a site that gives decent step by step instructions on how to create your own. :) I tried to do it but go frustrated, but Haw4 inspired me to try again. It'll be a nice little gift to give a friend of mine.

Thanks ladies!! There are some imperfections that I'm not happy with, but it took me so long to find those boxes and to get the material of what I want, I've surrendered. Who will be looking that closely anyways.

The tips I found out as I made it:
1. Paint 2 layers, I don't think you need 3, but it depends on the color.
2. Spray glue is awful but is your friend. I would do this outside ( I learned the hard way in my apartment) and I would totally wear gloves.
3. For gathering the lace on the inside, I found double stick tape worked way better then the glue.
4. I just learned this last night and have to go but more glue, use the spray glue for the ribbon if you want to attach.

I got the lace at Joanns but the trim you can buy at michaels for wayyyy cheaper.

I definitely got frustrated with it, but it worked out in the end!

It looks amazing! I'm not crafty at all either, but you've inspired me to be able to do it! I refuse to spend $100+ on a box for cards that will have no purpose for after the wedding lol

I think you did an awesome job on this!! Doing a card box is on my list of things to do once May comes. I'm going to have to bookmark this!

You did a great job! I am still debating trying to make my own or buying one.

Thanks everyone! Here's the finished product! I think if you ladies want to make it go for it! With all of the coupons I used, it was under $30!

Edit: can't seem to upload photos, but adding the ribbon to tier 1 and the trim to the bottom box totally helped dress it up!

Beautiful!!
I can't see it from your pics just above me because they don't show, but from the ones you posted previously, you did a great job.
