Re: I wish I knew how to sew

people who have seen my boring sofa and chair -

I love my sofa and chair, but I need more color.

I am working on some green inspired artwork for the wall above my chair.

I want to add some colored green pillows. (Hence the reason I need to learn how to sew. Although, Victor's mom is coming in to NY tonight. And she sews everything. But I feel like a user asking her all the time)

Anyway. Do we like this fabric? It's Amy Butler . It kinda makes me want to cry in a happy way.

Love it

I know how to sew. I won the 'Home Economics' Achiever award in 8th grade.

I was wifely before my time.

wifely!

so you sew stuff?

Victor's mom is amazing. The stuff she makes.

What did you ever decide on your guest room?

Re: I wish I knew how to sew

I don't know how to sew. My mom didn't know how to sew and she never taught me. My father could sew remarkably well because he was raised in a house full of women who did needlepoint and stuff like that as hobbies. Weird right? He never taught me either - because he said it no longer signified anything gentile in a lady.

But I love the fabric. Especially the patterned one. it reminds me of things I can't have because of my messy little boys.

yeah, well messy little boys = so you win.

My mom knows how to sew. Or she did.

I love all her fabric!! I need it.

Victor is going to kill me.

I like that first pattern.
Ask your MIL to sew it for you anyway.

We went w/ Yacht Harbor Blue and a really fun chabby chic quilt set w/ greens, blues, creams, yellows in it.

I'll take pictures once the hole that BM put in the wall while he was installing our ceiling fan is fixed.

that sounds dreamy

the guest room in my head is shabby chic

once, on TV - I saw Pamela Anderson's house and she had this pretty room that was all white. Shabby chic to the umpteenth power.

Re: I wish I knew how to sew

hahahaha. I totally can! I am lazy though, I don't want to take your fabric, and have it for 3 months.

I don't rely on myself to get things done. ever. Do you have multiples? Maybe you can come over on a Saturday and we can sew together, because then it will get done.

eta- I will make spinach dip.

I love the green fabric. Very different.

I can sew. I learned from my mom and grandmother (a seamstress!). I used to make my clothes (coats, etc...). I have no time now.
