I wish my Fh was more complimentary...

I have worked so hard to lose ten pounds and I know at 35 years old, I will never be perfect- no cellulite, etc. But this morning he noticed that I put on a couple( I did ask, my own mistake) but he doesn't notice when I lose a couple! I just wish he would be more supportive as I try to lose weight for this wedding!

thanks for letting me vent....

You have us!!! I know how you feel though, sometimes I feel like that too. Maybe you should talk to him about it. I know when I started this diet, I told him that he really needs to be strict with me and not let me eat the same things he eats and so far hes been really good.

Oh Christine,

I need my FH to have a talk with him. Losing ten lbs. at 35 is no easy feat. How do I know? Haven't lost mine? My FH has to watch what he eats very closely and throughout most of life gains weight easily if he doesn't watch it. Yes, it's easier living with him. I should have David call your FH. I think because David was married before or 'pre-owned' as I like to say, he knows never to say such even if it is true. Has your FH seen that commercial with wife who asks her husband if she looks fat, the husband isn't paying attention and he says 'Yes, Dear'. then the announcer says, 'In the time it takes you to pull out the sleeper sofa, you could...'

Congratulations on losing the weight first of all, that's an accomplishment!

I think men just don't notice weight as much as we do, but I know what you mean about being more complimentary. You probably should talk to him and focus on how you feel when you discuss this. He'll probably make an effort to notice more if it's pointed out to him.

Guys are so dumb My FH doesn't give compliments either, but he used to! One of his coworkers had to comment that I was looking very thin before he even noticed anything (although mine is stress-related and I wouldn't wish that on you).

Mind you, I guess I can be a bit tough on him at times. Especially as his own waistline is spreading more and more as the wedding approaches

Congrats on losing it in the first place and give yourself a good pat on the back

christine, that is so poopie!

i know you know that sometimes they just don't 'get it.' He is so lucky to have a hottie like you!

Smack him around, tell him whats up and what you need.

Hand Graham a script that says: 'Holy Crap! You lost 10 pounds? You look amazing, and I can see how hard you have been working to do it. I love you.' Maybe then he will get it!

first of all - CONGRATULATIONS and WELL DONE to you for losing 10 pounds - it's a big accomplishment and because you've posted a photo of you in your dress a few weeks back I can write that you're beautiful!!!!!!!

My FH isn't as complimentary as I'd like either. A conversation about it is always a good idea, though if your FH is anything like mine, he'll also want to hear about all the things he does that you love. Compliments might not be that important to him, but when he hears that it's very important to you, he'll be more observant.

I talked about this with my mom a while back cause it was bothering me and she mentioned that at the beginning of her relationship with my dad he was the same way. They've been married more than 35 years and I hear him compliment her all the time. He's proof that men do change!
