I wish there were someway to un-invite some one

My FFIL is a real a-hole - he and FMIL (who is wonderful!) have been divorced for about 10 years. We invited him because we felt we had too, even though his kids hate him and don't want to have anything to do with him.

He stopped by our house unannounced yesterday to ask if he could bring a date because he 'wanted to piss off his Ex' meaning FMIL. I told him No and that I didn't think our wedding was the appropriate place for that type of behaviour.

I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to sit him, I won't put him at the parents table because i want FMIL to enjoy herself, I can't put him with his children because they hate him, I'm trying to figure out who I can place him with, but really don't want to subject anyone to his crap

what does FH say about it? Shouldn't he be the one handling it?

I agree too, but if your FH is anything like mine, easier said than done :

FH doesn't want him there either, but also doesn't want to have to answer questions like 'where is your father'

We were hoping he wouldn't be able to make it, he asked us for airfare to come to the wedding and we told him no (he travels with the carnival and it will be in Florida in Oct.) but now he says he'll drive up.

FH asked me not to order his father a boutineer, he didn't want his name listed on the invite.

I do wish we hadn't invited him in the first place, but we were afraid of the drama it would cause elsewhere.

FH solution to the seating arrangement was to put everyone in a hat We are going to go over it more tonight, but I just can't seem to get it out of my head right now

OMG, why do people do these things???

I think I figured out the seating He has one daughter who will talk to him and FHs SIL will talk to him (her husband is in the wedding party) There is a table for 4 so I can sit him with them and SILs son

The table size has been half the problem - the room int he castle isn't shaped like a regular RH and only has tables for 4 or 6.

Thanks for all of your help and thoughts guys!

I am glad you guys figured something out. Family issues and weddings are always hard-I had that issue with my entire family on my dad's side! Wanted to sit them out in the parkign lot lol. But it could be worse...you could have happen to you what happened to my best friend...

During her CEREMONY her father (aka drugged out of his mind most days, 50 but thinks he is a yo-yo gangster 20 yr old) gives her away but remains standing on the altar in front of me and the rest of the BP and then mid ceremony TAKES A CALL from...get this...HIS NEW G/F!!!!

I say if the FFIL acts up, have him 'escorted' to the parking lot.
