Owwwww!! I woke up this morning with a very painful boobie!! Yep, I have mastitis...again!! This is the third time since December! I don't get it! What am I doing wrong! I've been nursing for 15 months now so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. Any other sufferers on here?

OUCH I have had plugged ducts but not mastitis. Can you call a LC and ask for help w/prevention? I hope you feel better soon!!!!

mastitis is an infection of the breast. it happens after a milk duct becomes plugged and the bacteria is allowed to grow. it hurts like heck!

Yikes!!!
I've had a clogged duct a couple of times and that hurts but I have never had mastitis. Did they put you on antibiotics?

Yes, my doc put me on augmentin which has some nasty side-effects. (Put it this way, I'll probably be spending a lot of time in the bathroom today.) But I'm already starting to feel better!

AWE, I hope you feel better soon! I feel your pain (never had it, but thought I did)-you know the self diagnoses we give ourselves ) Let us know how you progress

I dread this! My sister ended up in terrible pain and with a hospital visit. You poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.

Wow, ladies! Thanks for all the sympathy! I am feeling much, much better today. But I'm on the nasty antibiotics for ten whole days!
And, yes, I would love for my daughter to be on the birthday list!! How do I do it? I am new to the parenting forum but I am so glad I found it!
