I wonder if it's stupidity or laziness...

So thanks to advice to past brides about numbering your RSVP's...it came in very handy and saved my life (yes, I'm exaggerating)....

Our RSVP's are pretty self-explanatory:

The favour of a reply is requested by March 20, 2006
Name_________
( ) Seats have been reserved in your honor (we filled this out
( ) Yes __ of __ (we filled this out) will attend
( ) No, we regret we cannot attend....

Simple right - you WRITE your name where it says 'NAME' and check the box and fill out the number...even if you don't fill out the number b/c I'm sure that might be a little confusing (the whole ratio thing right) wouldn't filling out your NAME be the first thing you do????

Well, I came home and FIVE RSVP's were without a name!!!!! I don't know if it's laziness or stupidity....

Fortunately, I turned each one around and corresponded to the number on the guestlist to figure out who each person was! And they weren't 'older' guests...they were YOUNG guests that are 'with the times'....stupid. Okay, vent over.

I have a very similar RSVP card, and I thought about that too, especially with my crazy family.. so I numbered mine too!! I am glad to see I am not the only one lol I am happy to hear it works!

Maybe people just get too excited to send them out and they forget??????

Wow, 5!!! That's good you numbered them.

I was invited to a wedding once where they forgot to put the name line and the bride didn't notice until some friends pointed it out to her. She wasn't too worried because she had them numbered as well.

I did the same thing, thank G-D.....and just like you its the younger guests that don't fill out their name

great idea to fill out part of the RSVP and put the numbers on the back....I'll have to remember that.

My sister just filled one out for my friend's wedding and she had no idea what the

M___________ was for.


At least you put 'Name' that at least explains the line!

This is the reason why I put the persons name on the line for the name and if I knew their significant other I put their names in too, if I didn't I just put 'and Guest' AND I numbered them just in case. I wanted to avoid all the horror stories I had been reading on the boards regarding RSVPs.

I think it's a combination of both. Some people really don't know what to do with those things.

Yes, I plan on numbering too. I've heard from too many friends where people just don't write in their names..... Arrgh! I personally think it's stupidity.

5!!!!! We numbered them and got 2 with no name (one older couple and one around our age) but 5!!!!!
