That tissue paper is the stupidest part of invitations.

i'm not putting the tissue paper, our invites open and as soon as you take the invite out they fall out and it's annoying, my invitation lady told me that years ago they put the tissue paper b/c the ink was still sticky

Yeah - it was so the ink wouldn't smudge.

I have to admit, I got an invitation a few weeks ago and there was no tissue paper between the invite and the direction card and the direction card wording came off on the invite! Therefore, I will be using tissue paper

I think I read somwhere that is was used to protect the invite for the wax used to seal it. But that was back in the year one!!!! Why are we still using it???? I with you on that one!
