I think you shouldn't be thinking too much about this! you did what you could to safe the friendship between the guy and it seems as he is being hesitant so let it be. If he doesnt want to talk to you maybe he wasn't really your friend. Some guys tend to take their gf's side so maybe he is doing that. I totally understand how you feel about the lack of respect but some people just don't think like others. Perhaps one day he will contact you then and you can show him you are the better person but just dealing with the issue like an adult

trust me gloria, im not losing sleep over it... i just think it's funny. but you're right, i dont think he was a true friend to begin with, because he was so quick to shrug my attempts off.
no biggie... just wanted to bounce it off people to see if i was crazy or not.
thanks!!!

I understand where you're coming from, but put yourself in the other guy's shoes. If Jackie stopped talking to one of her friends (someone she was friends with before you were), chances are you wouldn't really speak too much to that person either. I might be wrong, and it is just an assumption, but I feel it's a pretty good one. Also who knows....if the girl is being that childish and petty, who's to say she didn't go telling her BF lies about you to prevent him from talking to you?

i totally understand that. i agree with you. but they were both considered friends, i met them together. if jackie and some guy got into a tiff and i was friends with him too, of course i would side with her... but i would at least that the guts, and respect to speak to that guy, and let him know how and why it all unfolded. do you know what i mean??

I understand where you're coming from...I'd be a little upset too. I mean, obviously he's going to side with her, but either way he should have the decency to at least text you/call/etc saying 'Hey man, you know how it is...it was fun while it lasted by I gotta stick by my girl'
I'd be annoyed, but obviously he doesn't see it that way so I'd just move on

I cant really respond until i know the full story - whats petty to you might not be petty to her and her man - but if your sure that its petty then maybe they werent really friends - put yourself in his shoes & if what you did or said - he did or said to your fiance would you be pissed off? sorry i wasnt more help.

i agree with this also. im a firm believer that there are 2 sides to every story. and yes obviously, she thought it wasnt so petty. but if i were in his shoes, and the same happened with my fiance instead...like mikesbride said... i would have the decency...orthe b alls to contact that guy. and if i was really mad.. i would tell him off... or something. i wouldnt sit there and hide behind silence.
just sayin

i hear ya.. but he probably doesn't want to piss off his GF by talking to you so he's trying to avoid the drama... hopefully once she settles down you'll be able to have a talk with him or both of them to settle things..

Well i understand that - i am very vocal too & couldnt just let it go without letting the person know whats up.... if he isnt responding them he is obviously siding with his girl so id just let it go because obviously he doesnt value the friendship like you did which is sad but better knowing now then later.

I totally know the situation. Been there. People that lack the capaicty to maturely discuss things or lack the respect for our friendship to do so are not real friends in my book. It sukks when friendships end but having lost 2 of my besties last year on my birthday TOTALLY put things in perspective. I don't want or need people like that in my life. Part of being friends is being able to respect people and work through those little tiffs, just like in a real relationship.

ITA I do NOT agree when people blatantly start ignoring a person on another's behalf (except in extreme circumstances). I think he at least owes you a 'Listen, you know how it is, gotta take her side' kinda thing.
