Ice cream makers

Yes we have one, and we love it! We have the Cuisinart one. It comes with recipes, but I also found some great ones online. Some take more preparation than others (like if you're using a recipe that has eggs in it) but all of the results have been great for me so far! It will initally be really soft, but if you freeze it for a few hours or overnight it's perfect. Melts really fast, though, so eat quick!

I have the Cuisinart too! It is the BEST BEST BEST gift we got :) I use it all the time and make my own low carb ice cream...


I haven't made any custard ice creams yet (those are the ones with the eggs) but I do make cream ice creams....

so basically for that model you can do three cups of heavy cream OR two cups heavy cream 1 cup milk.. (I make mine all heavy cream b/c of the carb thing)...

then add between 3/4-1 cup sugar.. (I use Splenda)

1 tablespoon of Vanilla..


then the last 10 minutes mix in stuff.. I've mixed in toasted almonds and a little almond extract, toasted coconut and a little coconut extract, etc.

last night I cooked Blueberries in splenda and butter- and some rum- then cooled down and added that.. can work w. strawberries too!

But nexxt time I'll do strawberries & Grand Marnier!

Big tip- I also freeze the container I'm going to put the ice cream in once I'm done.. that way the ice cream isn't shocked and starts to melt.. after the ice cream is done I freeze it for 1 hour.

I haven't used mine either but opened the box just last week for teh first time. We gave one to my MIL for a gift and they loved it and used it all the time. They made yummy pistachio which I got to try.

William Sonoma had a recipe book out to use with it that was really good.
