Ice Cream Wedding Cake

In a spinoff to my last post asking about other ideas to have instead of a cake (neither I nor FH eat cake), has anyone ever been to a wedding that had an ice cream cake as their cake? This would make FH happy and I would be beyond happy if I can get a bowl of the cunchies that they put in the middle of those cakes :) I kinda like this idea because it's different than every other wedding people have been to. Where would one go to get one for a wedding?

Ice Cream Wedding Cake

I've never been to a wedding that had one but I was telling FH the other day I would *LOVE* to have a Carvel ice cream cake for our wedding! I'm not big on regular cakes and desserts. I would just worry about it melting/getting really messy.

Ice Cream Wedding Cake

You'd definitely have to talk to your reception hall first and ask if they've ever done it before.. It would have to go from freezer to floor, have you cut it, and serve it immediately to make sure it doesn't melt. They'd also have to have room in their freezer for a big cake. If they've seen it done before, they may also have recommendations for where to go.

Ice Cream Wedding Cake

So you got th wheels in my head turning on this ice cream wedding cake thing so I did some research lol. Apparently certain cold stone and baskin Robbins locations do them! So you'd just have to call around to the different locations to speak to someone about it :)

Ice Cream Wedding Cake

I've never seen it done, but that's a great idea! I would definitely talk to your venue and see if that's something they've ever done or they can accommodate.

Ice Cream Wedding Cake

My friend did it. She had to get it from Carvel the morning of and deliver it to the hall. They actually forgot about it!! So they had taken it out but forgot to bring into reception. By the time it was discovered it was melted :( I would LOVE to do this but worried about it after seeing that!
