I'd like the attention of anyone who's not going to make fun of me...
But I am a WORRY-WORTTTTTTTT
I can't keep calling my loved ones with my qualms, so I am turning to my LIW friends...
What does everyone think of eating out/ordering in/etc...???
I like to do it,but I can't help but worry about germs...
I can't even enjoy the salad I ordered just now...There was red stuff on the cover (smelled suspiciously like strawberries...
And something reddish/brownish on the inside of the bag (yes, I inspect)...It doesn't really have a smell...BUt of course I am worried about it...Please help me.

I should note that I ordered tomato-basil dressing which may explain the reddish brownish marks on the inside of the bag.

I am always freaking out about this. If I don't see gloves on the person that makes my food( if I see it) I get so skeeved. I wish it wasn't always on my mind. I'm sure the salads fine though. Did you see them make it?

Not going to make fun of you at all. I have such a horribly sensitive stomach so need to be so careful about what I eat.
Try to put what you saw out of your mind... I know, easier said than done. There are worse things you can contract just by riding on the subway.

I worry. I am sure they sneeze on them, probably drop stuff and put it right back on the plate...If not worse (and I have heard much worse from friends who have worked in restaurants!). But what can you do? We would never do anything if you let yourself worry to much!

I worry too....If you eat out in a restaurant you have no idea who is cooking your food or what they are doing to your food, but if you get Take out I think it is a little better because at least in most places you can watch them make the food....

i'm the same way...i work in a restaurant, so i know what can happen, but the one i work in now, the kitchen is visible by the tables, so i think people appreciate that.

hehe, i worked in a restaurant, too! but, i don't let my experience freak me out. we order out every night and i only had one (knock on wood) issue. i can't talk about it...really freaks me out...okay a roach crawled out of the bag. EEEEEEK! but, i did not eat the food and i have never ordered from there again.

I am kind of wierded out in certain places. I cant have sugar and I always feel that they are going to add ingredients that arent supposed to be in the meal. And bugs... thats my main phobia. Once I got a salad from Yogurteria and there was a bug... I was so sick...

nothing bad like in road trip or anything. but for the most part, people touch stuff. nothing gross, i swear, no bugs or snot or nasty things, but if you order something like pasta and chicken, but forgot to say no chicken and we bring it out to you, chances are you're getting the same dish, but with the chicken picked out...stuff like that.

If I worried about every single germ getting near my body I'd get a bubble thing and live in it for the rest of my life.
Peanut, you shouldn't worry. YEs some places can be gross and not handle food right. And we do kinda put ourselves at risk at times. But I'm not going to stop eating out because I'm too scared of germs. Our bodies are wonderful at warding off some germs. If you're body is in good shape (ie: you eat well and take a daily vitamin) some germs are not going to affect you.
I eat out alot and I have never gotten food poisoning. Sometimes I don't feel great after eating something but that's few and far in between. I always order my food well done...
Don't worry, that will stress your body out more..

You're right. And chances are that'll kill me long before anything else even has the chance to.

i'm the same way - even if there's nothing wrong with the food, once the thought gets into my head that something gross happened to it - i can't eat it. unless it's something good like a black and white cookie

i am a worry wart too. All my friends at work know how picky i am with my lunch - it's funny. I can't help - I don't know where this stuff came from! I inspect everything.
