Idea For Bridesmaids
My FMIL threw a separate bridal shower, and FSIL came up with a few wonderful ideas that I wanted to share. I'm going to try to describe it - it's very complicated - so hopefully I make sense!
She looked up 25 'words of wisdom' (one for each guest at the shower) with quotes like 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree' and 'I read an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish things I had started. Today I finished a bag of potato chips, a cherry pie, a fifth of Jack Daniel's, and a small box of chocolate candy. I feel better already.' She wrote one per page in a scrap book, and as people walked in she took their picture, printed it out (she had a portable photo printer) and taped it to each page.
Throughout the shower I would have to select a number, and she would go to that page, name the person on that page and read the quote. With each quote went a gift, so for the apple doesn't fall far from the tree was an apple shaped candy dish. The person on that page and I would receive the same gift, so not only did everyone leave with something, but I got 25 little gifts. The difficult part for her was making sure she put the correct gift with the correct quote, so there was a lot of numbering going on.
It's very involved, but it was very cute and a lot of people loved it. And now I have this photo album of everyone who attended the shower and a bunch of words of wisdom - and a bunch of cute little gifts. I think most of the gifts were dollar store or Christmas Tree shop items, so they didn't have to break the bank. It was a lot of soaps, candles, vases, candle holders, etc ... But it really was great.
