Ideas for a weekend getaway

Hello All!
I need some help. My FH and I are not able to take a honeymoon right after the wedding because he is a teacher. I was wondering if anyone knew of a nice bed and breakfast out east. (Hamptons, Montauk, Greenport, etc) Also, does anyone know of any activities like a Harvest festival, corn mazes, etc that we could possibly do the first weekend in November while we are out there?

I go out to Greenport often and have heard good things about The Sterling House.
here is their website
http://thestirlinghouse.com/

In November there is not much going on out there though their big time is the summer season.

here is the Greenport website

You might be able still do vineyard tours though or maybe some of the neighboring towns will have something. You can try Mattituck, Southold, Cutchough.

A great place out east is Gurney's Inn Resort in Montauk!!! they are an awesome place anytime of the year...and you'll prob get a great deal for November since it's off season!!

Another place to think about is the Poconos. Really not that far, def an awesome weekend getaway and there's all the Ceasars resorts.

I HIGHLY recommend Newort RI it is not out east but...it is a ferry ride taken from orient to new london and only 1 hr and 20 min from new london. It is the most beautiful place ever!! Me and FH went there for our mini moon last weekend and are already looking to book for Nov bc we just cant wait to go back!! It is amazing....we stayed at the castle hill in resort but there is also ocean cliff etc...

Sorry I don't have any suggestion for out east...

but what about a different weekend trip?

Like go to Lake George upstate.
The poconos in pennsylvania.
or even Annapolis in Maryland.
Those are all inexpensive beautiful weekend trips too.

I second Newport, Rhode Island. We went there for a wedding last year and it was beautiful.

why not go upstate or to PA for the weekend. Leave friday night and come home sunday night. Get a little cabin and just relax.

If you need two great restaurants in Montauk.. I highly recommend
Harvest on Fort Pond
East by Northeast

Check out some of the Vineyards out east, not sure how late they're open, but DH and I did a little getaway two years ago out there and toured some of the LI vineyards and it was beautiful, and the wine was AMAZING

I definitely recommend The Stirling House in Greenport. FH and I stayed there the weekend we got engaged and it was great! There are only two other rooms, so its max three couples and the owner is awesome!!!

If you are looking for something a little bigger, The Montauk Yacht Club is really nice too, but definitely a different feeling than a B&B
