We are getting married next august and we're slowly trying to get ideas of where to go. We thought St. Lucia was it, but the whole hurricane problem came into play! yikes! We are pretty much open to anything just not big into touristy places... Thanks so much girls! hillary

We are going to Hawaii. Its actually 9/1 that we are leaving since our wedding is 8/29.
I went to Italy, France adn Greece in August several years ago and it was GORGEOUS!!!

we encountered the same problem, we had thought about going to antigua but it will be hurricaine season. we are going to aruba instead, it is out of the hurricaine belt!

Try Capri, Italy. It's supposed to be incredible and that's the perfect time of year to be there. FH and I would love to go but it's cold in early April.

Europe in August is jam packed with vacationers. Europe is on holiday for the month of August and they always travel to the 'hot spots' - the coasts, islands. Greece would be insane to get to this August - with the Olympics.
The ABC islands are outside the hurricane belt as is Mustique, St Vincent & the Grenadine's.

Here's a great site if you're unsure where to go. It's a weather site with a vacation finder. You enter the month you want to go and what you want the weather to be and it gives you a bunch of places that fit your specifications.
We had the same problem with hurricanes...wanted to go to the Caymans. We are going to Bali no weather issues there during that time.

I'm going to Hawaii in August, it should be lovely. I don't recommend Europe, though. Everyone in Eurpoe is on vacation in August. So you wil run into one of two problems. 1. Everywhere will be crazy busy with tourists. Or 2. All the shops will be closed since people are on vacation. I'm not sure about Italy, but most of France doesn't have AC, so you're going to be HOT.
