Ideas for buffet/family style RD Nassau/Suffolk?

FH and I want to host a RD the friday before our wedding (which is on a Sunday)...we are paying a LOAD for the wedding, which is black tie optional, so we wanted something fun, where people can be casual and laid back...we are thinking Italian. We figured that we can keep costs down with family style or buffet for our attendants and OOT guests...any ideas? The idea of this dinner is more to relax and thank everyone for all they do for us...nothing stuffy! Ideas? Something close to the LIE would be good, so it is easy for people to get to (FBIL and FFIL are cantors at their temples, so it will be on the later side and they usually are tired after)
