anyone have any suggestions? i would like to try to do something unique but i can't think of anything. any thoughts?
honestly, i'd rather not do anything at all but then i am afraid no one will think that they can take them and then we will frantically be running around at the end to collect them!

I want it to be simple so I might have someone put a Post-It underneath one chair per table and announce that whoever has one, has won the centerpiece.

At my shower there was a quarter under one plate. They won a prize. Also you could tie a ribbon to one glass on the table. Whosever it is has won.

SOME PEOPLE GIVE IT TO THE OLDIST PERSON AT THE TABLE, OR WHOEVERS BIRTHDAY IS THE CLOSER TO THE WEDDING DATE.
OR PLAY HOT POTATOE WITH THE NAPKIN - WHERE YOU PASS THE NAPKIN AROUND WHILE A SONG IS PLAYING AND WHEN THE SONG STOPS WHOEVER IS HOLDING THE NAPKIN GETS THE CP

I went to a sweet 16 last month where they had one person at the table take out a dollar bill...... they passed the dollar bill around to music. when it stopped the person with the dollar got all excited b/c they thought they were getting the centerpiece and the dollar - BUT the person who wound up with the dollar kept it and the person who took the dollar out of their wallet got the CP

My place is breaking the centerpieces up into smaller bouquets and giving them out to women as they leave - could you do something like that?

I've seen th bouquet thing done and I liked that the best!
But there's oldest, youngest, birthdya closest married/dating the longest time, etc..
Just make sure everyone in your family knows...because at my soister's wedding, my mom told some people they could take the centerpieces home, and then my sister had the DJ do the birthday thing...
ETA: known the couple the longest is a good one, too..but if you have all your HS friends at one table, and all your aunts and uncles at one table, it cold be a tie. but then it could be fun, they could argue over who saw u first when u came out of the hospital and who you met in 1st period english vs. 2nd period math!

I went to a wedding once, where someone had to take out a dollar, and yes the dollar went around the table a few times and everyone thought that when it stopped that the person who had the dollar got the centerpiece. Well they didn't, it was the person who took the dollar out who got the centerpiece. The dollar going around the table was to fool everyone. You could do that.
