Ideas for groom's cake

Is anyone using a groom's cake at the reception? how are you (or did you) working it into the party? At the same time you have the wedding cake?

I'm doing mine at the RD but my cousin had his at the reception and it was left out beside the wedding cake and cut at the same time.

I'm getting FH a Yankee themed grooms cake that will be placed next to the wedding cake at the RH. It's a suprise for him

we're doing ours at the RD, My FI doesn't know. It's a surprise. He's a Treky and I ordered the Star Trek Enterprise cake from Audrey's in Sayville.
