Ideas for Housewarming Gifts

Ideas for Housewarming Gifts

This is probably the stupidest question ... I have no clue about housewarming gifts!

Honestly I dont think I've ever had to buy a housewarming gift for anyone before (most of our friends have been renters all these years..) so now I'm at a loss as to what is a 'nice' gift!

My BIL and SIL just closed on their first house, and they could use just about anything ... We were planning to give them a substantial gift card to Home Depot (house is a fixer-upper), but I also wanted to give them an actual 'gift' too

Any ideas or suggestions?

TIA

Besides the gift card a nice bottle of wine or champagne to their new house. Small but it might mean a lot once things settle down for them.

A nice bottle of wine,
a plant (thats kind of cheesy though)
a nice gift basket with coffee and stuff, .....something nice for them to wake up to.
Maybe some framed posters for the wall
just random ideas

The gift card is really generous. You might want to pair it up with some candles or a plant or a coffee table book.

If they have a fireplace, FP tools.

BBQ tools

GC to a local restaurant if they've moved to a new area

Girls, you are so great! These are all such excellent ideas. I gotta compare notes with DH (he probably knows his brothers' interests a little better than I do.. drinks and the like)

We just got started fixing up our condo--a basket of cleaning products, mop, broom, sponges, etc. would have been great! We have been cleaning for weeks and it is still filthy, and the products start adding up.
