ideas for outdoor ceremony NOT at RH

So, I really want to do a 'different' ceremony - outside or inside (just in case of bad weather), I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I'm a July bride but don't want the beach. I am not crazy about our RH's ceremony setup and I'm having a hard time with churches bc the wedding is on a Thursday. Any thoughts??

Are there any parks or like grounds you could rent to do the ceremony? Maybe there is a park over looking the water somewhere. Start googleing stuff in long island and making calls. Im sure there is something!

Goodluck!

I will, but how does it work if I book a park or something and the weather is bad? I know I can always get a tent, but that would just be horrible to be out in the rain for a ceremony!

I really wanted an outdoor wedding, but ended up not being able to get myself to relax about weather - like you I figured what's the point of being outside if we are going to be under a tent?

We are having ours on a boat on Lake George - it's enclosed and heated or A/C for comfort, has huge windows so we feel like we are outside and weather permitting there are a bunch of decks to hang out on - so for us it was perfect - outside but protected.

I friend of mine just went to a wedding on a yacht that cruised around NYC - maybe that would be good for you guys?

Other options could be parks with pavillions - maybe an ampitheatre?

With a quick search I found this

We're using the DeSeversky Center on NYIT's Old Westbury campus for our ceremony. We chose it b/c it has outdoor options and in case of rain they have a sunroom where we can still get that outdoor feel. Also the grounds are so beautiful that we don't have to go to another place for pics after (and you save $$ on permits too )

The price was pretty reasonable in my opinion. Check em out!

eta: Just realized I gave you this suggestion before...guess it didn't pan out. Hope you find something!
