IDEAS NEEDED: Remember deceased relatives?

Hi there,

I need help brainstorming how to remember decesased relatives from my FH's family.

2 years before our wedding date, 3 of FH's cousins (young children) and his uncle were killed in a car accident. He was very close with them. His aunt and two cousins, also in the car, survived.

I would like to make a gesture somehow in our Catholic ceremony and also in our reception to them. FH was close to them, they only died 2 years ago, and we want to invite their spirits to be a part of the celebration.

FH's uncle had a signature drink. I am wondering if one thing we could do would be to call it 'The Bob' (not his real name), and post it up there on the bar, perhaps also if we decide to do other drinks.

I realize that a lot of this depends on what his family feels comfortable with. FH and I think that it will be far enough along that we can celebrate them.

What do you ladies think? How have you done this or seen this done? What ideas to you have for this? And of course, I will be sure that members of his family are comfortable with it. But I am asking for brainstorming of ideas here.

Many thanks for your kindness :)

Here is an idea that I've heard but have never seen it executed. I think it is a wonderful gesture but may be very emotional.

Choose a flower, maybe a longstem red rose...
In addition to your BM carrying their BoKs, have them carry this rose as well. As they come up to the alter, have them each place the rose in a vase next to a picture of your deceased family members. In your program, you can write something describing the symbolism of this.

Hope this helps!

You can have his aunt and two cousins carry a flower or small bo-k and during the ceremony have them place them on the altar in memory of them!
