Ideas on how to ask Bridal party to be a part of your day

I am having my engagement party next month and on that day I want to ask all the people we want in our bridal party to be in the bridal party. Anyone have good ideas on how they asked?

I had the bridesmaid poems printed on nice paper and put into frames.. I am asking my BP at my Engagement party too on the 25th!!

I gave them cards that read:



The day, the dress
The bride, the groom
The joy, the tears
Will all come so soon

Professing true love
To my husband-to-be
With family and friends
All watching me

I hope the sun will
Be shining down,
Keep your fingers crossed
That I'll fit in my gown…

But there's just one more thing
that there needs to be…
and that's to have you
Standing with me!
Will you be my bridesmaid?

I'm in the process of this right now!

I made little giftbags - bought the craft bags at michaels for 25cents and decorated them w/ 3D scrapbook embellishment (also on sale at Michaels.)

Inside the bag is a handmade card (again, the scrapbook embellishments) and a t-shirt!

I bought the shirts for 2.33 each at Michaels yesterday, and transfer paper for $5. I created a couple designs on my computer, printed them out, then ironed right on to the shirts. They're cute - front and back designs, in my wedding colors!

I'll take some pics when I get home later (if my camera is charged!) and post them

I remember once hearing on here about a bride who asked her BP at the EParty and gave them all name tags, you know, Hello my name is: Maid of Honor, Best Man, etc. I thought that was really cute. I got cards and wrote messages to each of mine, except my MOH, who I made a picture frame at a paint your own pottery place that said 'Be my maid of honor'

Gosh...I didn't know it was such a formal process to ask someone to be your bridesmaid.

I just called and said, 'i'm getting married.'
then they responded with omg, yay, or something of the sort.
then i just asked if they would be my bridesmaid.

I 'proposed' to my bridesmaids.

My mom found these adorable engagement ring paperweights on ebay and I presented them to my BMs as if I was proposing. I said 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' and then whipped out this ginormous ring. Everyone loved the idea!

Some of the BM's I gave them a Will you be my bridesmaid card. My best friend I printed up a poem, framed it and thats how I asked her, for the MOH, my mom I too gave her a different poem and framed it to ask and the other MOH lives in FL so I had 1800 flowers make a bouquet and in the card I asked her if she would be my MOH. All were touched. the jr and the flower girls I just asked them.

I got each of my girls personalized cookies. One had their name on it and the other had my wedding date. I got pretty note cards and wrote a personal note to each of them, asking them to be in my wedding. They all thought it was cute to get something sweet.

ok so i made cards for my bridesmaids.. what do we do with the men in the party?? just ask them in person??
