IDEAS??? REGISTRY???

Ok Ladies, here's another question!

I posted a while ago about FH and I living together for 5 years, having a house and crap and basically everything we need... My friends insist on throwing me a shower, so I am going along with it....but I attempted to register and I am lost!

There is nothing that I really need/want that isn't expensive! I know some of my friends don't have a ton of money and I kinda sprung this wedding on them last minute so I was wondering now what should I do??

I have pretty much all your basic stuff, all my everyday stuff, and I am confused as to what to do!

I was thinking sheets and bath stuff but then I was thinking...me and FH are selling our house soon because we want a bigger home & bigger yard, so by this time this year hopefully we won't be in here anymore, obviously I don't know the new homes design yet so why have people waste money on stuff I may not get use out of!

HELP ME PLEASE!

What about a honeymoon registry or a Home Depot registry for lots of gift cards for when you buy the house...congrats

Do you currently have 'good ' stuff? We live together, but have some sorta crappy apt stuff so we completely upgraded on our registry.

As for sheets and towels, you can always register for neutral colors that you could use in a new house. Then add a few fun things like serving, entertaining and barware things.

OR, you can have a lingerie shower. I'm not sure if this will scare the older ladies or not- haha

Or, do a HM registry. You can do one where you actually open an account ad people put $ on your account or one where you register for spa treatments or excursion.

I had the same problem we have been living together for 4 years and we have everything. I put a lot of little things on there and also china..I didn't really want it but I figured if someone wants to buy it thats the most expensive thing on my registry everything else except for a vacuum is under $40 dollars. I would say people can buy you the little things if thats all you need!!!

I do have 'good' stuff. I am very picky with crap and learned the hard way that I would rather wait for what I really want when I can afford it then buy things I'd have to replace soon!

So I did buy a lot of really great things over the last few years!

The home depot card is a great idea, except FH isn't mr. handy man and we hire people for everything...for example, I asked him to change a lightbulb in one of my fixtures, well he couldn't figure it out and ripped the entire fixture down so that when I came home, there it was hanging in the hallway...lol! I had to have an electrian come and replace the wires he snapped!

And Home Depot doesn't carry the applances I want for the new house so I couldn't use it towards that....poo!

Honeymoon sounds like a good idea, but do we have to have one planned already??
