If a BM dropped out on you a 4 weeks

before your wedding day and you aren't buying their excuse...would u still invite them with a guest.....Now I had to add a friend to the list so that she could fill in her spot....she was going to come to the church before but now she will be at the reception. We don;t have a dime more to pay for her guest and she told me before that she wasn't bringing a guest. Now I see that she RSVPed online for 2....I don't know what to do

Hmm. Did you ever say something to her like 'well I understand why you can't be a BM, but I'd like for you to still come and share the day with us?' If so, AND at the time that she was a BM she was invited with a guest, then that's kind of a tough situation.

If she was never invited with a guest, then that's easy...just explain that space and budget restraints have kept you from being able to extend the 'plus one' to people.

id be honest with her. id just tell her that ur disappointed that she dropped out of the wedding, but ud like her to come to the wedding, however....... u really cant afford to have her bring a guest. and if she doesnt like that... then yes, ask her to go fly a kite! haha

thanks ladies!!!! I thought that was very mean of her to do that to me. I would never do that to anyone. Her reason made no sense and I guess I am still upst because its still fresh in my head like she dropped out officially yesteday via email and rsvps later in the night.

I would talk to her and explain the situation. Hopefully she understands. If not...ITA...tell her to go fly a kite.

I would call her and ask if it is a mistake on the website. This way not to accuse her and if she says she is coming with a guest. I would politely say that you both discussed it and with money so tight you can't afford another guest. If she gets pissed and backs out... well then you know the kind of friend she is too.
