if a ceremony is at 12:30 (makeup and hair related)

For those of you who had or will have ceremonies that start at 12:30 or earlier

Are you doing your own makeup, having it done in a salon, or having someone come to you? Our photographer is arriving at 8am, and I am not sure whether its better to have someone come to us at the hall, or to go to a salon and have the photographers meet us there instead.

Any opinions?

I was in my friends wedding and we meet at the hotel room at 8:00 am and got our makeup and our hair all done there. WIth such little time driving around in a rush is probably a stressful and bad idea.

my ceremony is at 1230 as well...my day is starting early. Im having a hair and makeup person come to me, i just dont want to do anything my wedding day b/c if i try to do it and it's not comming out right i'm going to frustrate myself. If you tell them what time the ceremony starts they should know the adequate amount of time needed to do what they need to.

My ceremony is early and I am having my m/u artist and hairstylist come to me. I knew I could not drive myself anywhere-I would be too nervous!!! Also, it takes more time away from actually getting ready. It costs more to have them come to you but I think it's worth it-it's your day!!!!

My ceremony started at 12. We had to be at Old Westbury Gardens by 9am for pictures before the ceremony. I had my makeup and hair person come to the house. My hair was started at 4:00am and makeup came if I remember around 5:00am. We were finished at exactly 8:40 when the limos arrived with not a second to spare.

It's probably best to have people come to you so that you wouldn't have to run around that morning. But that depends if you find someone. If you have a salon that you like, see if they're willing to travel or open early for your whole bridal party to be there. They might charge more though if they come to you, that's the only thing. I went to a salon that was near my house and they had 5 people working on all of us so it was very quick. If your salon's far away, time it out so that you wouldn't be rushing. If you have photographers coming at 8am, you might have to wake up at 4:30/5am to get your makeup/hair ready.

Our church started at 11, reception was at 1230. We went to the salon at 6am. 5 girls got their hair and makeup done, and we were out by 830. Back to my moms, and all dress for 9am. It was tough, but I just made sure the hair and makeup girls knew the time frame. GL.
