This whole thing about tipping confuses me. If they work from home and all the money goes in their pocket anyway, why the need for a tip on top of that?

The universal rule for tipping in nearly any situation is 15 to 20% of the value of the service. Of course, there are always exceptions to this rule but it is always helpful if those exceptions were explained to the service provider.

Ok, I work as an admin. assist. but what if I decided to do nails in my home on the side? Would I expect to get tips?

i agree with you. i dont get it either! i have no problem tipping a person who makes minimum wage and lives on their tips, but i dont feel so justified in tipping a person who retains 100% of the money. Since Im a student and i have no job, I think i need that extra 10 bucks more than they do!!!
