(cough, cough, CLM)...how long would you continue to leave messages and get ignored before you became truly pis sed off and did something about it?? I'm tired of being avoided and lied to...but at the same time want to give ample time. Whats your timeframe??

Re: If an RH owed you money...
I don't know exactly what your issue is, but our RH sold our date out from under us and didn't want to give us back our deposit. They were rude and nasty on the phone and we didn't get calls back. I had my BIL who is an attorney call to speak with the owner and the owner's attorney and we had our money back within a week.
I would absolutely NOT wait. Clearly giving your money back is not high on their ist and they are never going to get to it unless you make them

Kristen you've been dealing with this chaos long enough I think you need to start getting a lawyer involved. This way you can have this off your shoulders already.

Re: If an RH owed you money...
I was booked at Watermill. We had to resch the wedding due to family issues. Watermill was giving me issues at first. I would call and they would say they didnt know the guy schedule or he was on the phone but he never called back. I got to the point when I told the girl on the phone if I need to take a day off from work and come down there myself, the only way I am leaving is with the check in my hand or police will have to drag me out. The follwoing day the guy answered my call and I had my money within 2 days.

How long is this going on? As a CLM bride this upsets me, but not for the reason you may think, they want the payments in a timely manner, but will not extend the same courtesy to you when it is time to refund the $$. Suffolk County has a law where you can cancel an affair (wedding) 6 months before the date, and be reimbursed.

ITA!! When I was booked with them, I paid them on time, every time. And they can't return the same courtesy.

Re: If an RH owed you money...
i would not wait any longer than a month!
and I would certainly tell them that you are going to seek legal action and that you would rather not do so so it would be in their best interest to resolve the matter promptly and without legal action.

Re: If an RH owed you money...
i may have missed your original post months ago-but what was the reason that they owed you money? And how long ago has it been??
It took us almost 4 months to get back our deposit & 2 payments made to a hall that we booked & then ended up cancelling. We canceled b/c of our tasting which was a valid clause in our contract. They didn't have a leg to stand on and HAD to refund us!! Had it gone any longer we would have taken some sort of legal action. A contract is a contract!
ETA: BUT regardless of why you cancelled; if Suffolk county law says you can cancel within 6 months of the event date and still get a refund. What is their excuse for not refunding you?
FH had to GO TO OUR HALL IN PERSON and deal with the manager after we became FED UP with unreturned phone calls & e-mails. Seriously-this is YOUR money; there is no reason why they should hold onto it if they're no longer providing services for you!! RH get on my nerves!!!!!

They have been refunding me SLOWLY for the past 11 months...now they only owe me a tiny bit left and now I can't get a hold of anyone. I've had to harass them non-stop for 11 months to get what I've gotten out of them to date. I know abou the 6 month Suffolk law..but I don't think within that law it states how quickly they have to refund you. Either way...a phone call should be returned regardless, thats what makes me the most mad.

Re: If an RH owed you money...
I'd go in person-speak to a manager. I found when dealing with my last hall that phone calls were never returned-someone was ALWAYS in a meeting!!
It worked best when we were there IN PERSON in their face. Maybe for fear of us making a scene? Who knows but it worked!
