If anyone is interested in taking the 911 Dispatcher test

I am trying to fill out the application and one of the requirements is to be a Nassau resident for one year prior to the exam, can this be waived?

If it's a Nassau county position, probably not. They go through and throw away any applications that do not meet the minimum critera. Good luck!

FBIL's friend (I guess) is one and she told me about the test coming up, here is the link if you or anyone else would like to take the test, the deadline is next week so get the application in quick. Good Luck.

I am a civil servant, the requirement is that you do have to live in the county for which the job is located. I live in Suffolk County - I had to be a resident here.

Here are the exact words from the site

CANDIDATES WHO HAVE BEEN LEGAL RESIDENTS OF NASSAU COUNTY AND/OR SUFFOLK COUNTY AND/OR QUEENS COUNTY FOR AT LEAST TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE DATE OF THE WRITTEN TEST MAY PARTICIPATE IN THIS EXAMINATION, BUT WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT ONLY
