if anyone talks to Janet

if anyone talks to Janet

I just read that Keith's situation may be work related. Please let Janet know that I'd be happy to answer any questions about Workers' Compensation. She's probably entitled to a weekly benefit (or maybe even a lump sum) as his surviving spouse or benefits while he remains incapacitated. I have another friend, unfortunately, who now gets a weekely benefit after her husband's heart attack on the job. She says that his life was worth more than what she gets, but the money is a big help. I don't want to push anythiing on Janet, but if she needs help, I am here. Just send an FM, or ask LIW for my contact info.

that's very nice of you to offer your help/advice/ support... you are right, no amount of money could ever take away any of the pain or unbelievable sadness she must be feeling and will unfortunately have to live with but when it comes down to reality, when you need to survive and live--every little bit counts to get you through day to day...

i know i would appreciate that advice/help if in that terrible situation.

Kerie-so sweet of you to offer. I hope that Janet gets some help from you or someone as caring and knowledgable as you.

I would have offered to help when she needed power of attorney/health care proxy/guardianship, but that is outside my area of expertise. I do have sample forms for it, and I would try to help if someone asked.

What a small world..... I was at Brookhaven Hospital and in the waiting room with Janet. My grandmother was in ICU. Janet took a few minutes to speak with us, even though she didn't know who we were. Unfortunatley Granmda passed away on Saturday.

My thoughts go out to Janet and her family.
