Re: If guys did all the planning..

Let's see, if my FH did all the planning, we would be having the ceremony & reception at The Meadow Club (not on my list b/c I didn't want to be at a place that had more than one wedding at a time), instead of a private ceremony on the water, and reception at East Wind Country Gardens. Our photographer would be ADA instead of The Velvet Studio (another bride recently posted she had a 5 minute e-pic shoot with only 10 photos, vs the 1 hour 100+ pics we took yesterday). The BM would be wearing a Dessy dress instead of either Impression or Belsoie (waiting for the Belsoie Spring 2006 line to hit stores to make final choice). The dresses would be blue (his favorite color, instead of burgundy (my favorite color). We would have ice sculptures galor at the CH, giveaways from the DJ, no limos (as in, why can't we just drive ourselves?), huge multi-colored floral CP's with hurricane lamp and pillar candle in the center, instead of monochromatic moderate size CP. And, if he had stopped to think about it, the wedding would not be in early October during the baseball playoffs with a honeymoon to follow during the World Series.

The reception would be held at Hooters!

We would be eating buffalo wings and burgers at the reception!

don't forget the cocktail weenies! That was FH's MAIN concern about the entire wedding, is making sure there is a plentiful supply of cocktail weenies!

My Fh is a procrastinator. He would wait until the week before the wedding to do all the planning,

And they would be wearing blue and orange tuxes like from dumb & dumber!!

FH's two friends said threatened to wear the orange and blue tuxedos. So we said we would be insulted if they didn't. They aren't in the BP, so it will be funny if they actually pull it off.

...u guys are killing me.
I went to a very good friend of mine's wedding 3 years ago. Her husband loves to race at riverhead raceway and he actually got her to have up wave those flags when they were announced into the reception hall. i cannot believe she let him get his way.

Re: If guys did all the planning..

Would there even be any planning other than making sure the reception site was stocked with alocohol or that there was someone available to make a beer run during the night? Of course, the invites would probably be by word of mouth the morning of the wedding. The wedding would certainly be 'unique' and a lot cheaper.

There are a few things my husband would probably care about in terms of planning: food, alcohol, and music. The alcohol would consist of various types of scotch, and the food would probably be a bbq. He'd spend a lot of time on coming up with the song list (no band or dj-a computer with speakers would be fine), which of course would include little to no music that I like.

I'd actually love to see a guy's vision of the perfect wedding that he has been dreaming of.

Reading all these posts, I think I gave FH too much credit. His dream wedding would actually be an exchanging of vows in front of Lou Gehrig's plaque in Monument Park, before the singing of the National Anthem, at a playoff game. I maybe could get him to bend and do it during the 7th inning stretch.

Re: If guys did all the planning..

I shudder to think what my FH might come up with if he planned our wedding. We just finished an argument about my logging on here again, he can't understand what could have been discussed today that was different from yesterday...I'm like hello??

Oh, and he was extremely alarmed as to how long it's going to take for my gown to come in. He plans on getting his tux the week of. Well so he thinks.
