If I put 'maiden name-married name' on marriage license, but then decide I just want to keep it as my maiden name ...

does anyone know if there's a problem with that?

Would I need to change it back on my marriage license?

Or just never do any official name changing stuff anywhere else?

Any info or experience you could share would be most helpful! Thanks!

my first marriage was in NY (i live in nj now).

i put 'married name' on the line where it says 'new sur-name'. we ended up splitting three months later. i never got around to changing my name. there were NEVER any problems!!

the only thing i did do (which i pray no one on here will ever do): when i filed my divorce papers, i made sure to fill in the space that i got my maiden name back.... just in case.

I have the same thing on my marriage license, but have yet to change my name...I don't think it is a problem!

It doesn't matter. Basically whaterver you use are all called aliases anyway.
