If I need 96 ivitations...

If I need 96 ivitations...

do I REALLY need to buy the extra 25 for 125 invites? Or should I order extra envelopes, but not invitations? Our guest list is set, and the invitations are pricey. I just don't want to buy 25 extra and not even use them, but i'm afraid not to

If you are absolutely 100% positive that you will not be adding people to your guest list- I think that is ok- def get the extra envelopes though!

To put things in perspective though- I ordered 150 invites, and I needed 129 at the time of ordering (so I thought).

I sent out 140 invites.

I ordered 125 just to be on the safe side. It was a suggestion after a friend found that people didn't receive them in the mail (she sent another one out ASAP) plus she had and extra for the pics...extras for B list people...etc.

I would order the extra envelopes just incase. I too was sending out 96 invitations and our calligrapher made a few mistakes so thank God we ordered them!

I'm a 'be more safe than sorry' kind of gal. To only have just enough invites would make me a little nervous. I'd get the extra ones.

Err, I don't know what to do still! I know my guest list is finalized because my family's list is already done from my sister's wedding (two months before my wedding), and it doesn't matter if JT's mother's list is set because she's only allowed to invite a certain number of people, so the 96 is definite, but I just don't know if I can handle knowing that if some people don't get theirs, then we're screwed. Ok, I better go with the 125. Thanks girls!

I am going to chance it and get 100 for 90 invites that need to go out. I can't spend any more!

We needed about 120 invites but we ordered 150...I was afraid 125 might not cut it in case (we also have a B list we hope to get to.)

depending on the method of the company making your invites...its comon to get a few extra anyway. we received 8 extra invites without asking about it.. we asked about it and our invite lady said they dont physically count your invites... but it was always be x number you want but not many more extra. example..guy starts process..walks away and it process a few extra.

I am in the same boat...I need 93 but ordered 25 more just in case...I t will be worth the extra $$ when/if mom decides so-in-so must come, etc. Also very good if you have an A and B list.

I had the same question a few weeks ago - we need 145 invites, but have decided to order 175. I don't want to stress and freak out if we don't have enough bc of things like lost invites, people my parents decide to invite last minute, etc...To me it's worth it to save yourself the worry...

Also don't forget you will need extras for other things.. sometimes the photographer likes to take a picture of one.. you may want to preserve one in a photo album, etc... Its always good to have a few more.. God forbid you make a mistake and spill something on one or two, you don't want to mail out messy ones..

I got 75, though I am sending 68. I'm playing it close, but I didn't want to spend the extra money.

I didn't even think of that- I need 147 invitations, I ordered 150.........
I'm sure as hell not adding to my guest list of 260 people !! .........I hope !!!

we need 90, and i'm doing the 125. I would rather have extra than short.

Although, FH said for last-minute 'b' listers, we can go buy card stock and print our own (we're getting a simple design to begin with..) but I figure to buy the kit would cost as much as just ordering the extra 25.

This way, I can have one to be frammed, one for a scrapbook (that I will hire Ang to make for me ) and extras as we need them.

I went for 150 for the 146 invites we needed. They gave us like 7 extra...

I think you should buy more. Its much cheeper than way, than if you had to order additional 25 later, it will cost you A LOT!

You will almost definitely get some extras...if they are expensive and you think you would be able to rest easily (I say that because I'm a worry wart) with having just a few extras, then go for the 100. I always think its so sad to have to throw away pretty invites when all is said and done. (But definitely order the extra envelopes) Good Luck with your decision!
