If I want no more than 220 people to attend...

what do you think is the maximum number of people I should invite?

I know the yes/no ratio varies greatly from wedding to wedding, but if you had to make a suggestion...what would it be?

we invited 198 and had a total of 149 day of. we were right on the money with the 20% rule, and we only had 3 cancellations the week of.

if you are going for 220, i'd say invite 300 or 290.

but keep in mind, teh 20% rule is not hard and fast, you could invite 290 and end up with 275 or 175...

You've got to figure out who you think won't come for sure but you must give the option to. We invited (in the end, B list included) almost or over 300...165 on the dot attended. That was our minimum. We had soooooo many OOTs and another wedding was planned last minute the week of ours on a cruise.

There is no truth to the ratios...it depends on when, where, any holidays, birthdays, where your guests are, how close they think they are to you...it's all up in the air.
