If it rained on your wedding day...

and your photographer offered a 100% weather guarantee, would you and your husband get all done up again in your wedding attire and have your outdoor photos done? I will post a review of my wedding soon, but right now we are trying to decide whether we want to restage the pictures, or take up the photographer on his offer, only dress simply and keep them as 'post-wedding' portraits. Part of me doesn`t want to pretend in photos that the rain didn`t happen, but part of me wonders if we`ll regret later that we didn`t get all dressed up for some outdoor shots. The photos would be of just my husband and me, not with the wedding party. When I think of dressing up again, I think about how I`ll need to have my hair and makeup done again, how I have no flowers, how we`ll need to rent a tux ... then we thought about how we had no shots of the Rolls Royce we rented and wonder if we should rent it again, which would make traveling for us, especially me, so much easier ... however this all gets very costly if we`re to restage it properly. Plus, we would be going all out for pictures that may only take all of about 1 hour total (including driving time). I also wonder if maybe we should get all dressed up, but keep it simple .. with me doing my own hair and makeup and not wearing my headpiece and veil. So, what would you do if it rained on your wedding day and outdoor photos weren`t done? Everyone`s opinions are greatly appreciated!

If it rained on your wedding day...

First of all, Congratulations, Kel!! I hope your wedding was everything you dreamed it would be (minus the rain) and more! On to your question: personally, I would not retake the photos - I think no matter how much I tried, or spent, I wouldn't be able to repeat that 'wedding day' look. It's up to you and Mike, of course!! But as you said, it's alot to consider. Can you wait to see your proofs and then decide?? :)

If it rained on your wedding day...

This is a very tough question. It is a lot to consider doing over, and you are right - you only have that 'glow' and excitement on the actual day. It would be so difficult to re-created. So, it's likely that your photo re-shoot won't be the same no matter what. However, I really like the idea to dress simply and take a more casual approach to the post-wedding portraits. You'd be surprised at how different/relaxed you will be in the photos, now that the wedding stress and honeymoon is over. Maybe that's the way to go? Again, I can't put myself in your shoes, b/c we were able to take our photos outside. But, I wish you the very best whatever you decide. Congratulations and best wishes for a long, loving marriage!

If it rained on your wedding day...

I don't think I would try to restage the day but I would want outdoor pics of me and my honey. So I would wear a nice outfit and he could wear a nice suit - just to have some professional photos of that time (in case you want them years from now).

It did rain on my wedding day &

I would definitely not think of 're-staging'. Our pictures are gorgeous, even indoors, and I would always look at those re-done outdoor photos & KNOW it was not 'my day', but a staged day. That, I think, would really bother me. It just wouldn`t be the same. However, if you do get a free photo shoot out of the deal - definitely take the photographer up on it & just dress nicely (suit/dress). It will be great having portraits. We LOVED our engagement photos & are even thinking of getting a shoot like that done every 2 years or so. So if you can get one done now for no charge - I say do it. But I would skip the wedding garb. Just my opinion of course!

If it rained...

I think I would dress up and do the pictures but do my hair andmake-up myself. I think I would regret it later if I didn't. If you don't like them when you are done then you don't have to use them.

If it rained...

I would not do it. Your day was perfect just as it was, rain or not. I`m sure the indoor shots are beautiful and are more of a reflection of the real wedding day than any pictures you can hope to take on a random sunny day in the future. Congratulations to you and your new husband. See you over on the newlywed site.

If it rained...

I agree with most of the grils here on the board that you should not try to re-create the day. You should keep the pictures you got and if you can take additional pictures, just dress-up nicely and use the pictures to frame or in your holiday cards. Congrats!!! Vickfl77
