if it weren't for bad luck..
..i'd have no luck at all
on saturday, my fiance and i had an appointment at bonaventure tuxedos. we got into our car at 12:30 PM and pulled out of our parking spot. the street we were parked on is a two way street with double yellow lines and cars parked on either side. as we were driving to the stop sign, i noticed a car coming from the opposite direction. this driver started coming over the double yellow lines. i just thought maybe there was something in the middle of the road on that side of the street and the driver was swerving to avoid hitting whatever it was. i get really nervous in cars, so i told my fiance to keep an eye out. he had already seen her coming. the next thing i know is that she continues coming at us at full speed. at this point, my fiance is beeping the horn like crazy and trying to swerve out of the way to avoid colliding with this driver and the cars parked on the right side of us. if my fiance didn't swerve as much as he did without hitting something else, she would have hit us head on. instead, she side swipped the entire driver's side of my car. she hit us so hard that neither the driver's side front door or the driver's side passenger door opened. i got out of the car and flipped out (naturally). this woman said like, 'omg, i'm so sorry. i wasn't even looking at the road. I WAS PULLING LINT OFF MY SWEATER.' umm, what?! that's what you do when you drive?! you have to be f'ing kidding me?!
thank god that my fiance is ok since his side of the car took the brunt of the accident. i spent today at the chiropractor and the physical therapist b/c my neck, shoulders and upper back are killing me.
i just feel like when we start to get ahead with money, something always happens. my car is being looked at by an adjuster and god knows how much damage there is to the car, if it isn't totaled b/c there might be frame damage. we had to rent a car for the week too. my insurance company is going to fight to get all the money back, but it's just the principle. ugh, when it rains, it pours.
here's a pic of my car. you can see how far over the double yellow lines she came![]()
