if so alone

fh has not been helping at all w/ the wedding planning, it seems like he lost interest, so last night i asked him if he were going to go and register w/ me, he said NO, you can handle it.. i'm sooo hurt. then i told him i feel alone and that it dont seem like he is excited about the wedding, his reply, its a women thing . i'm just so upset, and needed to vent.

aww im so sorry... Have you told him that he can put cool things on it too ((then after if you don't like them delete them hahaha)) or tell him he can use the cool gun thingy .. FH loved the gun thing!

or you can always go with your BM or mom?

Re: if so alone

i'm sorry for you having to deal and go through with this.... some men simply don't get all the hooplah around weddings...

is there anyone that can go with you to register? Maybe your MOH and her hubby/boyfriend....and then you can make a date of it with your FH..... Explain to him that regeristering is something fun for you BOTH to do - so that you can both get things on a list that people will buy you what YOU want...and there's a gun... i know it's silly - but FH fought with me for the gun! He thought it would be boring, but we wound up having a good time!

Re: if so alone

My FH helps when I ask. Honestly I tell him what i am thinking about doing. There is not a thing he has done on his own to prepare for it.... I LIKE IT THAT WAY!
I would never exclude him from a decsion. But I am enjoying the planning process and ASK for help as needed.

Re: if so alone

i feel your pain. my FH doesn't really get involved either with the wedding planning. it gets very frustrating. thankfully the only thing he is interested in is going to register. that and picking the menu - GO FIGURE!

maybe when it gets closer he'll change his tune!
keep your chin up!

don't feel bad. mine is the SAME way. he wouldn't tell me to go by myself but i don't feel like he's into it at all and we've gotten into arguments about it. i'll go with you to register if you want

seriously, i'll probably go with him once, and with my sister the rest. i didn't involve him in flowers or the dj or photog - all we've done is pick the RH together.

guys are just not always as into it

I'm sorry to hear that!!! Maybe ask him what he would like to plan / get involved in and have him focus in on that (ie: RD, Limos, tuxes). To give him some responsibility and not have him feel like he has to deal with flowers, colors, favors, etc. that most guys don't care about.

Re: if so alone

i dont understand why some FH's arent interested in the wedding planning....my FH and I are equally involved in planning the wedding (except for when it comes to this site - that is the one exception hahaha) its OUR wedding - so we do everything together.....its not just MY wedding its HIS too....and he feels the same way - its OUR day....i guess some guys dont feel that way.....if FH didnt care about the wedding and planning than i would take that as a bad sign - how could he not care about the wedding? BUT that is just my relationship with my FH - everyones relationship is different - if FH didnt care about the wedding and planning it i would feel like he didnt care about getting married to me and that would be a problem.....but that is just how FH and I are.....for you it might not be a big deal at all.......maybe you can let your FH know exactley how you feel and tell him that it hurts you that he isnt showing interest.....he should come around - because then he wouldnt be doing it b/c its wedding related - he'd be doing it to make you HAPPY - see the difference? hope everything works out for you!!! dont be upset :

Re: if so alone

Don't feel alone. My FH hasn't done a thing, at all. He comes to the tastings at the RH but other than that he hasn't done a thing. But i'm different in that I'm not upset about it. I like to work on this stuff by myself, he'd be more a hindrance. But seriously, it doesn't upset me because I know it doesn't mean anything about how he feels about me or the wedding or us getting married....planning a wedding is just not his thing, it's my thing, and that's totally 100% fine. I picked all the vendors myself, registered by myself, even picked out the tux place for him myself. I run through my decisions with him before I make the deposit but most of the time he just says, whatever you want...and that's fine with me. The day of he'll have a great time and be happy to be with me and that's all I care about.
