if u were a bridesmaid...

would u like it if the BM dress was paid for or would you rather receive a gift??

i'm thinking of paying for the gowns myself b/c some are in other weddings this year, one is getting married and one is expecting.

i know it would be expensive, but honestly, i have no idea what to get them as gifts! help!

Honestly, i've been a bridesmaid 7 times...each time the gift didn't phase me either way, I always thought whatever the bride did was considerate enough, and took whatever was given as to be expected as being part of the bridal party. Some of the girls paid for the gowns some gave us jewelry for the day of or bags filled with stuff, either way I never looked back and wished it were different. It can put too much stress on a bride to wonder what will make them happy. I am sure whatever you decide to do for your gift will be appreciated by all of them, or at least should be!

I honestly think that if they agreed to being in the wedding party-- they took on the extra cost-- also I think that jewelry is the best bet-- they will all be matching ( i am addicted to matching ) what color are the dresses?

its pink (euro berry) with silver. Yes i thought about jewelry but dont even know what kind etc. I'm just bad with ideas

I agree with teh above post that anything I;ve gotten has been appreciated. I do think it is a very nice gesture on your part to pay for the dresses. I think that would be nuce gift for your BMs

I chose to be apart of the wedding because I wanted to be a part of the day so whatever the bride decides to give me I am happy with because its the thought that counts more than anything else

i rather get the dress paid for......what the hell am i going to do with jewelry to wear the day of? ill probably never wear it again and throw it out and hair and make up costs less than some bridesmaid dresses - so i rather get the dress for free instead if it will save me more money im in a BP and the dress is on the expensive side - i dont mind at all b/c i knew that it would probably be expensive....but i think its a nice gesture if you can afford it.....i am thinking of doing it for my girls - or pay for their hair/make up.....hopefully i can afford to do something like that for them on top of a small gift

i picked girls i love - my sisters and my friend so i want to spoil them - i wish i had more money!
