If you are expecting...what hospital are you giving birth at?
I live in West Babylon but my doctor's have privileges at Huntington Hospital. I'm worried that may be too far away. (Its a good 45 minutes at least with minimal traffic) Good Samaritan is closer but it would mean switching doctors and I'm not sure about the hospital. My mom was there once (in the ER) and didn't get the best treatment. (Admittedly that was a while ago and the hospital may be much better now.)
Which hospital are you going to?

I am delivering at Winthrop, which is about 20 minutes from my house... I think that it is too far from West Babylon though..

I am delivering at Winthrop too and I live about 20 minutes away. I dont think I would feel comfortable delivering at a hospital more them 30 minutes or so away.

Winthrop, it's about 20-25 mins away
Edit to say:
I have a friend who moved to Selden and she has the same OB/GYN as me... she refuses to change and will make the drive into Winthrop when it is her time to deliver - she's not pregnant yet, so I'm thinking she may change her mind when she realizes how often you see a doctor when you're preggo!

I dated a guy whose mother was an OB/GYN nurse at Good Sam and was told they have one of the best Maternity Wards around....don't know from personal experience though

I am not expecting yet but my Dr delivers in Stony Brook and I think St Catherines now. Stony Brook is like 5 minutes away so that is where I will be going. My friend had her 2 babies there and had no problems.

My Doctor is affiliated with Good Sam and Southside. I just emailed you re: the obgyns. My sister's doctors are also affiliated with these hospitals. I live in North babylon and Good Sam is literally 5 minutes from my house.
Good Sam is EXCELLENT! So is Southside. I have three friends who had babies at 25 weeks, and miraculously survived. The neonatal care is the best!
My girlfriend delivered in Southside with all three kids and she wouldn't go ANYWHERE else! Said the nurses were the BEST!
You will be in GREAT hands with any of the doctors you named in your other post and both these hospitals!

LOL!! My Dr delivers at Mercy in RVC and I live in Northport!!! DH thinks I am out of my mind that I want to have this Dr!! He wants me to find someone closer.
I've been seeing this Dr for 14 years (???)!!!
I think I'll decide once it happens ...
(BTW, my friend uses the same Dr and has schlepped from Greenlawn for the births of both of her daughters)

I had my daughter at Northshore in Manhassett. I am going back there again for this one. I have never been a patient before except in the delivery of my daughter so I was very happy with the way that I was treated and it kept me at ease when I was alone at night. I live in queens so with no traffic I would say that it 20-25 min away on the SSP
