If you are using your church/temple, etc. provided musicians?

So the place I'm getting married let me know that I can use their organist or pianist and it's $250 for either. So I accepted and said I would use the organist. Im not allowed to bring in my own because of the liability to their equipment. So, I thought to myself last night that Im into the details of my wedding and what not but do I ever get to meet with this musician since its the place providing them...?? I never thought about it and said yes before even seeing if they were any good. What do you girls think? Is anyone else using their church provided musicians and did you hear them before your day? I guess I just have to call but the lady always goes, its sooo earlly, relax...they dont do a lot of weddings I think so thats why she says this. Shes not mean though.

I think you should have a meeting with the musician. You will have to sit down with him/her to discuss the music you want for your ceremony. We are using FH's church's organist and she plays every Sunday so we've heard her before. But we are having a meeting with her later on to choose which songs we want.

We are required to use both the church provided organist and the provided vocalist. I definitely want to meet with the vocalist before hand. As for the organist... I don't think they are too many different ways to play an organ, and I think any church organist would sound the same.

We are using our church provided musicians and I have to agree with the woman......it is a little early. We didn't pick our music until March. So many things can change and the musicians can change. I would wait. And if you cant bring in your own then its not like you have to go find others.
