If you arent having/didnt have an engagement party when did you
Register?????????
I am getting married July 1, 2006. My china is being bought as we speak probably even though I havent officially registered for it. I knew what I wanted , my mom is spreading the word when people ask her...
BUT I didnt and am not having an engagement party when should I register?
We are moving into our new home on August 1st...i dont know if that changes anything

you should register now, especially since you're moving soon. you can always add or remove things later on (I have changed things around on mine a million times)

I registered about 10 months before the wedding.

I got engaged in Dec. and I registered in March, we had our eparty in June and we got all of our good china, everyday dishes, stemware...it was great.
You should do it before you move in, maybe people will get you something for a housewarming gift

I think I'll register next month or the next (10-9 months).

We're not having an E party and we're getting married in October of 2006.
My mom has been bugging me to register, but until we have our house, I can't even think about it. I know she's bugging me because people are asking her what do get us for an e-gift, even though we're not having a party... which is nice, but it just doesn't feel right to be picking out kitchen appliances when we don't have a kitchen yet, you know?
We will probably register in the Spring.

My day is July 8th 2006 and we registered in March - but we only registered that early because my bday was coming up and I was hoping to get some stuff off my registry then (which i did ).
Our registry isn't super long yet, but at least it gives anyone who wants to buy us a present an idea of what we like

I am not having an eparty and I have started registries at 2 stores but I am taking my time filling it up b/c people won't start buying until we start getting closer.
I say if people have already begun picking things up, then you should register sooner rather than later. have fun with it!
ETA: even though your mom has been great telling people the china pattern and such, the registry will help EVERYONE keep track of how much has been purchased, so you get the numbers right.

We registered shortly after getting engaged, because people were asking if we were registered anywhere - some asked me, some asked my sister.
You can always add stuff later on, but some people like to buy you a small gift now.

I would suggest doing it as soon as possible. Its not a chore, its actually fun. Its like making a wish list. You can do it online or at the store. If you know where you going to be living after you married, try to register for gift cards. I know Target allows you to register for them. Trust me I know how hard it is when you don't have the space for everything. Heck the few gifts we got on our E-party are taking up half our room.

fortunately we will have the room, and actually i am looking forward to it... but i was just wondering when the 'right' time would be, when too early would be...and i know i will be a registry peeker so it will make me crazy if i register and check daily and NOTHING comes off oh well, thats my problem huh!
