Do you have it at home or at the salon?

I had my dress home for 1 year and kept it wrapped in a brand new white sheet and then in the garment bag laying flat so that it didn't stretch.
Now, keeping it for 2 years (if at home)...you may want to consult a professional and ask them if there are any other precautions you should take to prevent it from discoloring.

Unless you're buying it off the rack, the salon will have to order it which could take months and I believe most bridal salons will store it for you.
Not to worry...relax!!!

well, you're right but 99/9% f salons will order it so that you receive it a month or 2 before your actual wedding date.. so don't worry.. =)

JMO, I really think you are going too early. You will have 2 more years of designs that will come out and you will have to keep the one you bought. 2 years in advance is really early.

Re: if you buy your dress 2 years in andvance.....
Please learn from my pain! I ordered my dress last January for my September 04 wedding. It was way early, but I fell in love so I went with it. Well to make a long story short, I ended up having regrets, it is just way too much time to see new designs and change your mind etc. I recently changed my dress. I was lucky that my salon was willing to work with me and I was able to do this, but I could have been stuck with a very expensive dress that I no longer really wanted. I know you are anxious to shop, I was too, but do yourself a favor and wait! Start shopping when you have a year to go, you will appreciate it much more and you will not risk the 'what was I thinking' feelings many brides get! Whatever you do, good luck!!
