If you came in under your minimum...

Did they throw things in to make it worth it?

Like extras for free as long as you paid for the minimum ppl?

I don't know how this happened...we invited about 340 ppl..and probably will only have about 200.
The most common reason for no RSVPs seems to be that ppl are taking their kids to college that weekend..I never thought of that!

I'm afraid that will happens for my date since it's right inbetween Christmas and New Year's.

I've heard that some RH's do give extras if you pay for the minimum but don't meet it. I think it's actually something they should all do considering they won't need to serve the additional plates.

When you give your final count maybe you can talk to your banquet manager and see what can be worked out?

Hopefully one of the girls who's had this happen will be able to give you more insight...but it never hurts to ask. You only get if you ask.

We came in under our minimum by like 12 people. We used vendors to makeup the numbers. We had 14 vendors so we just had to pay full price for them to eat.

Edit - We invited 300 and ended up with 163! Our min was 175. We had alot of no's because of OOTers.

That makes me feel better. I've been VERY VERY sad and dissapointed in the past few days that so many ppl said no. I feel like no one cares. I know that the important people will be there, but I'm still sad.

if i came in under my min i wish i could add extras but i don't think the hilton plays that
but if yours allows you to do that, that would be awesome!

PLEASE do not feel sad! 200 people is still a lot of people who love you very much. And even those that aren't coming - that DOES NOT mean they do not care. If most are taking their kids to college - that's your reason. That's very important, too. Please - everyone loves and cares about you both!!!!!

sorry about your numbers... it doesn't hurt to ask your RH what they can do for you.

1. they might count the vendors as part of your head count
2. for any dinners that you paid for, have them wrap them up for you to take with you (doggie bag) or give them to your family members

We had to meet a minimum of 165 though, and invited 264. I was afraid that we'd be closer to the 220 side of things, but thankfully, it seems like we're gonna be around 180.

If we had thought ahead, we definitely would've sent out STD's but oh well!

I will let you know, my sister is getting married at MDR the week before you and she is coming in under by about 20 people (think you know people). All her RSVP's aren't in yet, even though they were due 7/18, shocking. She said she will see if they will throw in extras, not sure what that would be as I think she got everything. Good luck, don't worry it will all work out in the end.

I'm Still missing about 50 PPl's actual RSVPS, but I pretty much know who is/isn't coming and my date was 7/19!

There isn't much to throw in there, they pretty much give you everything they can if you go with the bigger package. I'm thinking maybe ice sculptures or some more sea food choices?

Aww thanks!! You are right, they did write that they were dissapointed and gave a legitimate reason for not coming. It's all about me & Fh anyway..Ahh I can't wait for him to be my HUSBAND. It makes me teary eyed everytime I say it!

I sent out STDs, but not to EVERYONE..my parents weren't 100% sure who would be invited and didn't want to commit by send them STDS! DUH!
